Cladco Composite Wall Cladding
What’s in our Composite Wall Cladding?
Our composite cladding range offers a modern, low-maintenance alternative to traditional timber cladding. Made from a blend of 60% recycled plastics and 40% recycled wood fibres, Cladco Signature composite wall cladding boards is highly resistant to rotting, warping, and splintering. The boards do not require sealing, staining, or painting - helping to preserve their colour and minimise upkeep.
For enhanced durability, ProClad composite cladding features a polymer-capped surface that encases the composite core. This advanced cladding solution offers superior protection against weathering and UV fading, making it ideal for long-lasting external applications.
Maintaining Your Composite Wall Cladding
Our composite cladding is crafted from recycled materials, helping to reduce environmental impact while delivering reliable, long-lasting performance.
Keeping your Signature composite wall cladding in top condition is simple. For everyday maintenance, use a stiff-bristled brush to sweep the surface. To remove dirt, grime, or animal droppings, clean the boards with warm, soapy water and a sponge if needed.
ProClad boards requires even less maintenance thanks to its capped surface. We recommend brushing away visible dirt and clearing any natural debris that may accumulate over time.
How to Install Composite Wall Cladding?
Designed with a tongue-and-groove style fitting, our composite cladding range is easily fixed onto supporting battens, making installation straightforward. Use the appropriate starter strips, perforated closures, and corner trims to complete your project.
Both Signature and ProClad composite cladding boards offer versatility, with the option to install them either vertically or horizontally. With a natural timber-look finish, you can enjoy the aesthetics of wood with the added benefit of reduced maintenance.
Choose from our range of composite cladding for a sustainable, attractive, and long-lasting exterior solution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I use Cladco composite cladding?
Our range of composite cladding is highly versatile and designed to enhance the exterior of homes, garden rooms, offices, and more. Composite cladding can be installed onto battens fixed to stable, structurally sound walls. It can also be used indoors if desired, offering a decorative finish for interior spaces.
Do I need planning permission?
In most cases, planning permission is not required to install composite cladding on your home, as long as the materials do not significantly alter the external appearance of the property.
However, if your property is listed or located in a conservation area, you may need permission before proceeding. Please note that Cladco cannot provide official planning advice. We recommend consulting a licensed planning consultant or building surveyor before beginning your installation.
How long does composite cladding last?
Depending on where you live and where your composite boards have been installed can affect how long the cladding will last. The wood/plastic composition of the material used to manufacture the boards is a more durable alternative to timber and will last longer in areas that are not exposed to harsh weather conditions.
How do I know how much cladding I need?
With our easy-to-use wall cladding calculator, you can receive an estimate on how many boards, fixings and accessories you may need for your project.
How do you attach composite cladding?
Composite cladding can be installed both horizontally and vertically onto a simple substructure made up of battens. The boards fit together using a tongue and groove technique. A selection of trims can be used for a seamless finish around edges and corners. Take a look at our installation guides for more information.
Does composite cladding need a membrane under it?
Composite cladding boards are naturally very resistant to water exposure/weather damage and so there is a relatively low chance of water penetrating through the cladding and damaging the wall behind. If however, you live in an environment where there is high wind and rainfall, a good quality membrane installed beneath your boards will help to protect your home.

Composite Slatted Cladding
What’s in Composite
Slatted Cladding?
Looking to add a sophisticated exterior upgrade to your home? Cladco composite slatted cladding is the perfect choice. Crafted from eco-friendly capped composite materials, these panels replicate the look of timber slats while offering easy installation and long-lasting performance.
Also known as shadow gap cladding, slatted composite cladding is manufactured from 60% FSC® certified recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastics, encased in a durable outer shell.
Each panel features a four-slat castellation design, providing 200mm of coverage once installed - offering more scope than the average slatted panel currently available on the market.
Maintaining Composite
Slatted Cladding
Cladco composite slatted cladding features a durable outer shell that helps protect the panels from weathering and other potential damage. To keep your cladding looking its best, regularly clean the panels with lukewarm or cold water to remove dirt and debris. For more stubborn marks, such as bird droppings, use warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge.
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your cladding, inspect the boards annually and clean as needed. Avoid using high-pressure washers, as these can damage the surface finish of the panels.
For the best results and long-lasting performance, we recommend installing the cladding onto composite or recycled plastic battens.
How to Install
Slatted Cladding?
Onto battens, either horizontally or vertically, with battens placed at 500mm intervals. Where two panels meet end to end, install two battens and leave a 3mm gap between the panels to allow for natural expansion and contraction.
Ensure a 25mm gap is maintained between the wall and the panel to provide adequate airflow and ventilation.
Install any single start trims and internal corner trims before fixing the panels, and complete the installation with corner trims or double end trims. The panels slot together using a tongue-and-groove system, concealing the fixings for a clean, professional finish to your exterior project.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a pressure washer to clean the slatted panels?
We do not recommend using a pressure washer on Cladco slatted cladding, as it may damage the surface or paint layers. Instead, use cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap and a soft brush or cloth for effective cleaning.
Can I cut the panels down to size?
Yes, you can cut slatted cladding panels to length using standard wood-cutting tools. For the cleanest finish, we recommend using a fine-toothed blade.
If you wish to cut the panels lengthways (to alter the width), please note that this will remove the interlocking tongue-and-groove edge, meaning additional panels or trims can no longer be attached to that side.
Are the panels scratch resistant?
Cladco slatted wall cladding panels offer increased scratch resistance compared to natural timber. The unique capped composite construction provides enhanced durability and helps prevent surface marking. However, panels may still scratch if not handled with care.
Can slatted panels be installed horizontally?
Yes, Cladco slatted cladding panels can be installed both horizontally and vertically. For horizontal installation, battens or joists should be positioned vertically (opposite to the panel direction). The installation method remains the same, regardless of the orientation you choose.

Composite Slatted Wall Cladding
Cladco composite slatted wall cladding panels offer a contemporary solution for exterior wall finishes. Manufactured from a capped composite material, each panel features a subtle textured grain effect across four slats, providing a natural timber-look appearance. The hollow core construction reduces the overall weight of each panel, making handling and installation easier without compromising on strength or durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is fibre cement cladding?
Fibre cement cladding boards are high-quality fibre cement boards manufactured using state of the art technology.
Fibre cement boards, unlike timber or composite boards, do not have any traces of wood fibres, so should not expand or contract with the weather. The boards are made using a mixture of cellulose fillers and fibres with water, creating cement. The cement is then pressed and rolled, extracting any excess moisture, creating a pliable material formed into the 3.66m cladding boards.
The woodgrain effect is etched into the boards for the final touches, and then are painted using a ‘paint-and-bake’ method for a superior finish.
What are the benefits of using Cladco fibre cement wall cladding?
When transforming the exterior of your home, or adding Cladding to a garden studio, room or garage, it is important to consider if the product has any additional benefits.
Cladco fibre cement wall cladding boards are 3.66m long and 210mm wide, covering 0.65m² per board. The boards also come with the following properties:

To find out more about the range, browse our website, or contact our friendly sales team on 01837 659901 who will be happy to assist you. Alternatively, samples are available to order in two of your chosen colours.
Can fibre cement boards be painted?
Cladco fibre cement wall cladding is finished using a paint-and-bake process that enhances the boards’ durability and strength. If you wish to paint the boards a different colour, we recommend purchasing the unpainted version. Additionally, any minor damage or wear can be easily repaired using our touch up paint.

Cladco Internal Slatted Wall Panels
What is in Cladco Internal
Slatted Wall Panels?
Cladco internal slatted wall panels are crafted from high-quality MDF with a wood veneer, delivering a premium wood-effect finish. Each panel is backed with an eco-friendly, recycled PET felt base, creating a solid and durable product.
With Cladco slatted wall panels, you can quickly transform a space by fixing them over painted walls or concealing unsightly wallpaper and other surfaces. These panels are acoustically rated to improve sound absorption, which can be further enhanced by installing battens and compressing soundproofing materials within the air gap behind the panels.
Maintaining Internal Slatted Wall Panels
Internal slatted panels are easy to maintain. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle attachment or a dusting cloth to remove dust from between the slats. Clean individual slats with a damp cloth, taking care to avoid excessive water or harsh detergents that may cause chemical discolouration. For stubborn stains, a mild soap with a soft, damp cloth can be used.
When panels are installed using screws to battens, individual panels can be easily replaced if needed. Please note that these panels are not made from water-resistant materials and may become damaged if exposed to water for prolonged periods.
How to Install
Internal Slatted Panels?
One of the key advantages of Cladco internal slatted panels is their ease of installation, which can be achieved simply using adhesive or appropriate screws. For best results, we recommend using either adhesive or suitably rated screws.
Panels can be installed vertically or horizontally to match your preferred style and can be easily cut to size and shape using standard woodworking tools. Adjusting the panels to fit around obstacles is straightforward - use a saw to cut the slats widthways and a sharp blade to trim the felt backing lengthways, allowing for a precise fit around any object.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy 600mm x 600mm or 2.4m panels?
Depending on your project, you may be undecided about which size to choose. Our acoustic slatted panels are available in 2.4m x 600mm, or 600mm x 600mm sizes.
Cladco 2.4m x 600mm acoustic slatted panels are perfect for larger projects where you need to cover a full-length wall. These panels can be installed as a feature wall or around a whole room for a striking look.
Our 600mm x 600mm acoustic slatted panels are a great option if you would like to add a touch of texture and depth to your interior. This size of panel is also useful for custom projects where you need to fill smaller parts of a wall and are easily transportable.
Can cladding panels be used in a kitchen/bathroom?
We do not recommend installing Cladco internal slatted wall panels in rooms with high humidity, such as bathrooms, as the materials are not designed to withstand prolonged moisture exposure.
Can I cut wall panels?
Yes, you can cut the felt with a utility knife. Cut the MDF panels with a hand/circular saw on the non-decorative side.
Can I install slatted wall panels horizontally?
Yes, Cladco slatted wall panels can be installed either horizontally or vertically, depending on your preference. The installation process is the same for both orientations - measure, cut, then screw or adhere the panels to the wall.
Can I install slatted wall panels outside?
No, our internal slatted panels are not waterproof and therefore are not suitable for outdoor installation. For external applications, we recommend using our composite slatted cladding designed specifically for outdoor use.

Internal Slatted Wall Panelling
Cladco internal slatted wall panels are available in a range of colours to enhance and transform your interior walls. These lightweight panels are designed for easy installation, making them suitable for a variety of spaces.
