Why Use a Top and Bottom Rail in Your ProFence Installation?

To achieve a clean, professional fence installation, top and bottom fencing rails are the perfect fix. Not only do they enhance the visual appeal of the fence by giving it a finished edge, but also adds important structural protection.

Rail Specifications:

  • Length: 1.84m
  • Width: 20mm
  • Depth: 24mm

The bottom fencing rail creates a solid base, supporting the entire stack of fence panels. It also helps to keep the boards aligned and secure over time. On the other end of the fence, the top rail caps off the edge of the fence and locks the top panel into place.

Together these fencing rails help protect your fence from moisture, dirt and potential weather damage in the future. By covering and sealing the edges of the panels, they reduce the likelihood of water ingress - an issue that can lead to premature wear to the structure.

U-channels are screwed into the top rail and fencing posts to secure the rail and ensure that the panels are fixed and stationary. When positioning the rails and securing the U-channel, it is important to leave a 3mm gap to the post in order to allow for expansion.

Important Note: These top and bottom rails are designed exclusively for our ProFence range, and are not compatible with other fencing panels.

How To Calculate Square Metres plus minus

For your Fencing project, square meterage is calculated by multiplying the total height of your fence by the total length of the boundary being fenced.

As each Composite Fencing Panel provides 0.72m coverage once installed, divide the square meterage by 0.72 to work out the total number of Panels required for your Fencing project.

Please note that our Composite Fencing Posts measure three metres in height, and, once installed, will allow for a maximum height of two metres, which equates to ten Panels.
