Decking joists are a vital component of the decking frame, and enable the installation of decking boards across the target area. Our range is designed to support our wide selection of decking boards, and to provide a suitable base for decking clips and screws.
Before decking joists can be installed, it’s important to have your ground properly prepared. For example, use Cladco heavy duty weed mat where decking will be installed over soil. You may want to consider laying down concrete, or installing decking posts, before forming a joist subframe.
Decking joists are often used alongside supporting posts to create a level, or raised, decking area. When using timber joists, applying durable deck tape will significantly reduce moisture damage and extend the life of your timber subframe. You may also want to consider using face fix joist hangers when installing a subframe to uprights.
At Cladco, we have a wide range of joists to support your decking project. Our 4m, environmentally-friendly composite joists offer a lightweight, durable subframe, whereas our wide range of 100% recycled plastic joists are available in a variety of sizes to suit any project. We also supply a range of timber joists, allowing you to select the most suitable option for your subframe, as well as aluminium decking joists designed specifically for using with our aluminium decking boards.
